Methi is normally used as a spice and its leaves are extensively used in a mixture of culinary preparations. These are cuboid-shaped, small, hard, dirty yellow coloured, perfumed, strong flavoured seeds of the fenugreek plant. Methi provides relief from indigestion, constipation and other digestive disorders. It reduces the bad cholesterol level (low-density lipoprotein, LDL) in the blood thus reduces the risk of cardiovascular diseases. It prevents atherosclerosis which leads to heart problems.
